Venus®

Beauty – layer by layer.

Beauty - layer by layer.

As a dentist by using the layering technique, as a dentist you can take full advantage of all the many aesthetic benefits of Venus. Customised layering of dentin, enamel and incisal composites produce life like restorations which perfectly match the patient's surrounding dentition

Dentin composites

The opaque shades give restorations a natural-looking colour intensity (chroma). Dentin composites can also be used without any further layering, should the shade look perfectly acceptable.

Enamel composites

Enamel composites have medium-transparency colour intensities and are available in a wide range of shades. Enamel composites can be used without any further layering. In conjunction with dentin shades and translucent shades it is possible to achieve highly aesthetic results.

Incisal composites

These translucent shades have the highest transparency and the lowest chroma and they give your restorations the crowning glory. They are layered over the enamel composites or along the incisal edge so they result in a natural appearance.

The 2Layer shade guide made with the actual materials

Venus provides you with a 2-layer shade guide, hand-layered using the actual Venus materials.

The colour wedge consists of a base layer of dentin composite with a layer of enamel composite over the surface. As a result, it is possible to ensure an accurate shade match reflecting the natural structure of the tooth. At the same time, the final shade of the restoration is shown, which makes selecting the most appropriate shade extremely easy.

An easy-to-follow chart on the flip-side of the guide helps you determine the most suitable shade layering.

Clinical Case

Initial situation

Replication of palatal enamel using translucent composite (T1)

Application of opaque dentin (OA2) to emulate the mamelon structure

Application of a number of incremental enamel layers, starting with relatively dark shades (A3) and progressing to relatively light shades (A1)

Final layer is applied using translucent composite (T1)
