New flowable posterior composite by Heraeus
Venus® Bulk Fill: the efficient way to perfect depth
Hanau, Germany, February, 2011 - From March 2011, the new Venus® Bulk Fill by Heraeus provides dentists with an efficient solution for posterior restorations. The flowable composite enables fast, easy and reliable bulk filling of up to 4mm. Venus Bulk Fill combines very low shrinkage stress with high curing depth and excellent radiopacity. The dentist benefits twice: He saves time and money, while achieving a sound and stable restoration.
Venus Bulk Fill is based on Heraeus' long-term experience in the development of restoratives. It complements the proven Venus system of composites. The new restorative is ideal for use in class I and II direct posterior restorations, as a bulk fill base up to four millimetres underneath a top layer of a conventional composite or as a cavity lining under conventional composite. It can optimally be combined with Venus Diamond universal composite, yet it is compatible to all other methacrylate based restoratives and adhesvies as well.
Fast and easy placement technique
With Venus Bulk Fill placement is fast and easy. The dentist no longer needs to fill in several two millimetre layers. The new composite enables bulk filling in four millimetre increments making posterior restorations much more efficient. The self-adaptive handling ensures ideal cavity adaptation. The composite's exceptional flow makes it easy for the dentist to completely cover the floor of the cavity. Further manipulation with a dental instrument is not necessary. This eliminates steps prior to final cure and reduces technique sensitivity. Venus Bulk Fill allows for simple dispensing and placement via a convenient pre-loaded tip (PLT) or a non-dripping syringe. A small final lyer of Venus Diamond covers the restoration. On the whole, Venus Bulk Fill saves time and enables a more cost effective restoration. In the American Integrated Media Survey 2010, 82 percent of surveyed dentists claim savings up to 10hours of chair time per month when they use a bulk fill material.
Sound and stable posterior restorations
Venus Bulk Fill creates sound and stable posterior restorations. The flowable composite exhibits a significant reduction ini shrinkage stress. This minimizes internal forces on bonded interfaces, prevents marginal gap formation and ensures durable restorations. The composite shows more than 250 percent aluminium radiopacity allowing for very accurate diagnosis. Venus Bulk Fill features a high depth of cure for safely curing thick layers up to four millimetres. In-vitro studies by the University of Munich and by the research lab of the American dental magazine Reality Now attest the new Venus composite a significantly higher degree of cure compared to SureFil SDR bulk fill material.
