Heraeus extends Venus® Diamond by Chromatic Opaque Dentine Shades
More flexibility for the everyday dental artwork
Hanau, Germany, February, 2011 - Heraeus complements the proven nano-hybrid composite Venus® Diamond by four chromatic opaque dentine shades. From March 2011, the new shades will extend the dentist's possibilities in creating extremely natural, durable direct restorations, even with discoloured teeth. The dentist can combine Venus Diamond Chromatic Shades with the wide range of Venus Diamond shades. He benefits from the restorative's excellent technical and clinical properties he is accustomed to.
With Venus Diamond Heraeus has been providing dentists with a new class of high performance restoratives since 2009. Due to its innovative monomer matrix and nano-hybrid filler system the universal composite combines extremely low shrinkage stress and high flexural strength with excellent colour adaptation. This unique combination ensures durable, lifelike restorations. The good clinical behaviour of Venus Diamond anterior and posterior restorations has been verified by numerous in-vivo studies worldwide.
More chroma and higher opacity cover discolourations
Heraeus now devloped four additional Opaque Dentine Shades with more chroma and higher opacity. This gives the dentist even more flexibility in his everyday dental artwork. The new shades are suitable for anterior and posterior restorations. They provide an extended solution for covering discoloured teeth or amalgam tattoos of dentine during amalgam replacement, as well as for restoring dark class V cases. Venus diamond Chromatic Shades complement the 28 established incisal, universal and opaque dentine shades of Venus Diamond. Offering several levels of translucency the nano-hybrid composite enables outstanding results in copying natural tooth aesthetics - for individual pieces of art in the patient's mouth.
Venus Diamond Chromatic Shades are applied in the familiar multi layering technique in combination with the established Venus Diamond shades. Dentists benefit from the good handling properties they are used to from Venus Diamond: The material features a stable consistency and a conveniently long working time under operating light. It does not stick to the instrument and can be efficiently modelled. Polishing is easy. The stable and very smooth surface gives the restoration a long-lasting lustre.
Available as PLT or syringe from March
The new Opaque Dentine Shades Opaque Light Chromatic (OLC), Opaque Medium Chromatic (OMC), Opaque Dark Chromatic (ODC), and Opaque Extra Dark Chromatic (OXDC) will be availble as preloaded tip (PLT) and syringe refills from end of March, right on time for the International Dental Show (IDS) 2011 in Cologne.
